What happened
Cameco Corporation (NYSE: CCJ) extended its C$1.0 billion unsecured revolving credit facility to Oct. 1, 2030 from Oct. 1, 2029.
The facility is still undrawn, so the extra year gives Cameco more time to borrow without adding debt. The company disclosed the change in its management discussion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026.
Cameco also reported results for the first nine months of 2026. Pre-tax earnings edged up while adjusted EBITDA slipped, so the earnings picture is mixed.

What the nine-month numbers show
Earnings before taxes for the first nine months were C$703 million, against C$681 million in 2025. Adjusted EBITDA was C$855 million, against C$862 million a year earlier.
By OptimistFi's calculation, pre-tax earnings rose C$22 million, or 3.2%. Adjusted EBITDA fell C$7 million, or 0.8%. Both moves are small, so the period looks flat.

What the uranium market update says
Cameco's market update points to firmer pricing. The average reported long-term uranium price rose to US$96.50 in the third quarter, close to its highest level since 2011 in 2026 constant dollars. The spot price ended the quarter at US$89.63.
Cameco says buyers' push to secure supply is moving upstream from conversion and enrichment to uranium itself. It cites public requests for proposals from utilities, traditional demand entering the market and inbound requests for direct long-term off-market talks.
The update also lists supply setbacks. Kazatomprom pushed commissioning of its sulfuric acid plant to between the third quarter of 2027 and the first quarter of 2028, from the first quarter of 2027. Kazatomprom does not expect a material impact on current operations.
Orano said disruptions at its conversion facility cut expected 2026 UF6 production to approximately 9 million kgU, against a previous target of at least 13 million kgU.
Why it matters
OptimistFi has argued that Cameco is a levered way to own the Western uranium and nuclear-fuel security cycle, provided utility contracting and scarcity-driven pricing keep turning into margin and cash. The price and demand commentary supports the first half of that view. The nine-month results do not yet show the turn into cash and margin, since adjusted EBITDA slipped.
The credit extension helps on liquidity. Cameco says it has enough borrowing capacity and expects covenants in its credit agreements will not constrain its operating and investment activities for the rest of 2026.
The caution for holders is that nine-month adjusted EBITDA finished below last year's level, so the market backdrop has not yet shown up in earnings. The report also lists lower-than-expected sales volumes or market prices, and higher-than-planned production costs, among its material risks.
What's next
Hearings on the relicensing of the Port Hope conversion facility are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. Cameco says the process is underway and on track. The current CNSC operating licence expires in February 2027.
A favourable outcome would remove a risk the report lists for the Port Hope production plan. A delay would add to it.
Cameco expects the final shipment of its remaining share of JV Inkai's 2026 production to reach Blind River before the end of 2026. It expects to see the benefit of JV Inkai's 2026 financial performance later in 2027, once the 2026 dividend is declared and paid.
