Why it matters

OptimistFi's case is that Ferguson is a scale-advantaged distributor whose stock works if its branch network and product availability keep winning water and air spend without sacrificing gross margin or cash conversion. This Form 4 is mixed for that view because Brundage sold 5,986 shares and still held 54,908 shares afterward.

The 5,986 shares were about 9.8% of the 60,894-share holding before the trade, so the sale is large enough to notice. The strongest caveat is in the filing itself: the sale sat inside a Rule 10b5-1 plan, and some shares came from compensation vesting and dividend equivalents.

That context makes the trade look more like scheduled share management than a fresh judgment on the business. The separate 5,925-share disposal at $220.04 points the same way. The filing therefore updates the ownership baseline without changing the basic operating test for Ferguson.

What's next

Ferguson's next quarterly report is the next scheduled test for the investment case. Investors will watch whether gross margin and cash conversion still hold while the branch network keeps supporting professional water and air spend.

A report that keeps those measures steady would strengthen OptimistFi's case. Slippage would weaken it. Until then, this Form 4 mainly updates the size of the CFO's stake.
